Dear Cardinal Families,
I am writing today to make certain you’re aware of the Ohio Afterschool Child Enrichment (ACE) Educational Savings Account program, which provides qualifying families with a $1,000 credit per child.
These funds can be used to pay for a variety of educational activities designed to help accelerate learning for children impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The program is open to any Ohio child ages 6-18 (who has not graduated from high school) who meets at least one of the following criteria:
• Residency: Children who live in school districts identified as having a high rate of chronic absenteeism or have one or more schools identified as EdChoice eligible qualify. Please note: The Felicity-Franklin Local School District does not meet this criteria.
• Income: Children from households with an Adjusted Gross Income at or below 400% of the federal poverty level based on the household’s most recent federal income tax return. Click here to find the chart of qualifying income levels.
• Participation in federal assistance programs: Children who are part of a family that participates in programs such as Medicaid, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), or other government social programs with eligibility at or below 400% of the federal poverty level, qualify.
For additional information, please click the links below.
• Ohio Department of Education: https://education.ohio.gov/OhioACE
• List of qualified education service providers under the Ohio Revised Code.
• Information on how to apply.
If you think your family qualifies, and even if you’re uncertain, I encourage you to apply.
Thank you for a great 2022-2023 school year. Have an enjoyable and safe summer break!
Sincerely,
David Gibson
Superintendent
